Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 can (28 OZ) chopped tomatoes
- 1 tin (15 OZ) kidney beans and draining
- 2 teaspoons of chili powder
- 1 teaspoon of cumin
- 1 onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, chopped
- Add salt and/or pepper according to your taste
Instructions
Begin by browning the ground beef in a large pot over medium heat. As it cooks, break it apart with a spoon until it’s evenly browned.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic. Cook until the onions become translucent, which typically takes about 5 minutes.
Stir in the chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Let the spices infuse the beef for another 2 minutes.
Add the diced tomatoes and drained kidney beans. Stir well to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
Reduce heat to a simmer and cover the pot. Allow to cook for 30-45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
