Description
Keto Indian Frybread is a delicious low-carb alternative that you can enjoy at any time.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups almond flour
- 1/2 cup coconut flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Water, as needed for dough consistency
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the almond flour, coconut flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well to ensure there are no lumps.
- In a separate bowl, melt the mozzarella cheese in the microwave for 30-60 seconds or until fully melted.
- Add the melted cheese to the dry ingredients along with the eggs and olive oil. Stir until a dough begins to form.
- If the dough is too crumbly, gradually add water, a tablespoon at a time, until you achieve a soft but workable dough.
- Divide the dough into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
- On a parchment paper-lined surface, flatten each ball into a circle about 1/4 inch thick using a rolling pin or your hands.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat and add a small amount of oil.
- Carefully place the flattened dough into the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy.
- Remove the frybread from the skillet and drain on paper towels. Repeat the process with the remaining dough.
- Serve warm with your favorite dips or toppings.
Notes
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in a skillet or microwave before serving.
