- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup sugar-free marinara sauce
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Take a small portion of the meat mixture and flatten it in the palm of your hand. Place a cheese cube in the center, then fold the meat around the cheese to create a ball. Repeat until all the meat mixture is used.
- Place the meatballs on a lined baking sheet, ensuring they are spaced apart evenly.
- Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
- In a saucepan, heat the sugar-free marinara sauce over medium heat.
- Once the meatballs are cooked, transfer them to the saucepan with the marinara sauce and simmer for an additional 5-10 minutes.
- Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with extra parsley if desired.
Notes
- For a spicier version, consider adding crushed red pepper flakes to the meat mixture.
- These meatballs freeze well. You can make a double batch and store them for quick meals later.
