A delicious Vegan Danish filled with an easy cream cheese filling, perfect for a sweet treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup vegan butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • For the cream cheese filling:
  • 1/2 cup vegan cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the softened vegan butter and almond milk to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
  4. Lightly flour a surface and roll out the dough into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  5. Cut the dough into squares to form the bases for the Danish.
  6. In another bowl, mix together the vegan cream cheese, maple syrup, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  7. Place a tablespoon of the cream cheese filling in the center of each dough square.
  8. Fold the corners of each square towards the center to create a pinwheel shape.
  9. Place the assembled Danishes on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

Notes

  • Make sure the vegan butter is softened for easier mixing.
  • You can substitute almond milk with any other plant-based milk.
  • Store leftover Danishes in an airtight container.
