A simple and delicious recipe for garlic naan bread that doesn’t require an oven.

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons plain yogurt
- ¾ cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Fresh cilantro for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Add the yogurt to the flour mixture and mix until combined.
- Slowly pour in the warm water a little at a time while mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough in the bowl or on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Divide the rested dough into equal portions (about 6-8 pieces) and roll each piece into a ball.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
- Roll out one dough ball into an oval or circle shape, about ¼ inch thick.
- Place the rolled dough onto the hot skillet and cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles form.
- Flip the naan and cook the other side for an additional 1-2 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove from the skillet and brush the warm naan with melted butter and sprinkle with minced garlic.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired. Repeat with remaining dough.
Notes
- This recipe makes about 6-8 naan breads.
- Serve warm with your favorite curry or dish.
- You can adjust the amount of garlic according to your taste.
