- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 1/2 cups non-dairy milk
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, salt, and sugar. Stir until well mixed.
- In a separate bowl, mix the non-dairy milk and vinegar together. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to curdle.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined, making sure not to overmix.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead gently for about 1 minute until it comes together.
- Shape the dough into a round loaf and place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Cut a deep cross into the top of the loaf using a sharp knife.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the bread is golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
